Hey Laura-

So glad that Cover It Live worked well for you – I think that for me one of the best attributes of the tool is the archiving. Twitter chats can be fun and “viral” (as in spread-able) but so quickly fade away. I think it’ll be good to give CIT a few goes for this chat.

I totally agree with your emphasis on migrating from one platform to another – it may mean helping move people from one tool to another, or it may mean cross-polinating content and actions across platforms without moving people. I have written about that a few times recently and would love to continue talking about it on the chat.

Looking forward to it! Thanks for the Facebook reminder, now it’s on my calendar. I thought Cover It Live worked really well, glad there is a transcript of last month’s chat.

One thing I’d love to explore related to “migrating a community from one platform to another” is how to bring cohesion to a community that may be interacting in multiple places. Our constituents tend to interact on our listservs, but they are also starting to use Facebook. That’s about as techie as they get right now. We would like to try to push them to use our website as a place to have conversations, because that is where the content is stored and it seems to me that conversations can add value to particular pieces of content. But just because that makes sense to me, I don’t know that the users see the value in this enough to make a behavioral change.
