October’s Community Builder Chat – #commbuild

Are you working on building or supporting community beyond one geographic region? Maybe across multiple countries, or even continents. Or are you looking to move from online community to offline event coordination?  This month’s chat is for you! We’ll be talking about organizing events and supporting international/global communities. Really looking forward to it and hope you’ll join me!

  • Date: October 28th (I’ll be presenting at the Blackbaud Conference on the 21st so will move it to the 4th Thursday of the month)
  • Time: 4 pm EST (1 hour)
  • Chat: Launch the chat here (not live until the chat starts)

About the Community Builder Chat

These monthly chats part of the #4Change network and are open to anyone interested in learning and sharing about building community, on and offline, with the use of social media or other technology tools. 1. Thrilled to find this!
Our nonprofit, Women’s Initiatives for a Sustaianble Earth, WISE, is wanting to catalyze women’s circles threaded together through a network hub so that we can speak and act with a million voices. I know nothing of IT or NPT. I do know about World Cafe which seems to be a fantastic way to have best practices bubble up. Wonder if there is technology that could replicate World Cafe or what is out there that could help with vetting of best practices (holacracy model?)
Is this a topic that you might cover in a chat – or have already covered?
I see that the 4th Thursday of the month in November falls on Thanksgiving. Will you offer it at another time this month?
    Thanks for your comments.
    Best,
    Darr

    1. Hi Darr-

Thanks so much for sharing your story here; very glad you found us! The
chats are usually on the 3rd Thursday, actually (October was an exception),
so the next one will be at 4 EST on Nov 18th. I’d love to use your example
as a topic – looking for best practices and tools that support communities
of practice or other networks to build up.

Thanks again and hope you can join on the 18th!
      Amy
